Enter the Journey: OCIA

Adults considering entering the Catholic Church follow a process known as the OCIA — Order of Christian Initiation for Adults.

If you are interested in learning more about the Catholic Church, either to become a member, or as a Catholic to deepen and enrich your knowledge, OCIA classes will begin on September 10, 2025 at 7PM in the parish conference room.  All are welcome.

The OCIA process explores the meaning of faith, offering a chance to ask questions, raise doubts, gain knowledge, share, learn, and grow.   The process helps inquirers discern God’s call. Those who complete the process celebrate the sacraments of Baptism (if needed), Eucharist, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.

OCIA sessions  present an overview of Catholic beliefs and provide an opportunity to ask questions and explore your feelings and any concerns you might have about the faith.

What’s the commitment?

OCIA exerts no pressure on people in any way; you will find yourself in a friendly and welcoming group where you can comfortably contemplate this important decision in your life.

Those wishing to talk about this process, please contact our OCIA coordinators Father Zbig or Deacon John (810-982-7906 ext. 157)
