Junior High Religious Education
(7th and 8th grade)
Junior High Religious Education is confirmation preparation. It is a two year program. Classes begin in 7th grade, with confirmation taking place at the end of 8th grade. Arrangements can be made for those students entering the program after 7th grade. Please call the Director of Religious Education at 810-982-7906 extension 155 to arrange.
Classes meet on Wednesday evenings form 7:00-8:30 p.m. two to three times per month. Check the calendar for exact dates.
Class structure: Students start in the gym for large group activities, then break off in to small groups with a catechist for discussion, then come back together for large group.
There are occasional parent meetings and student retreats throughout the two year program. Parents are the primary catechists and are partners on this journey. Parent participation, modeling, and encouragement are essential to your child's faith development.
Objectives for the two year program include ongoing formation in the Catholic faith, a growth in the student's relationship with Jesus, and preparation for both the Sacrament of Confirmation and continuation of their faith journey in high school and beyond.
